This means that you can be assured that the dairy products and desserts you are receiving from this company are completely organic with no chemical dilution or addition. The family-owned and operated creamery aims to take a safe and healthy root for the sweet and straightforward pleasure of ice cream. The Straus creamery not only uses products from its own Straus farm, but it also gets its dairy products from 11 other family farms in the nearby counties, with the affirmation that the products are all healthy and organic.
The Test tasters at Tasty Ice Cream in Straus ice cream review gave a lot of the flavors available at the Straus creamery a try, and let us tell you, they did not disappoint. We have made a list of some of the best flavors we found and would recommend them to you guys as well. But, forewarning, we did not try out ALL the flavors, so there might be a better-hidden gem than our recommended ones.
The first one is the classic and simple Caramel Toffee. While you may be thinking that the flavors may be too intense in this one, the ice cream is rather plain and not in the wrong way. It is similar to what you would expect from a classic vanilla-flavored ice cream, packed with a solid but simple flavor. The base of the ice cream was caramel flavored, and bits of melted toffee were dissolved into it. Unlike other toffee flavored ice creams in which the toffee is crunchy and distinguishable, the toffee in this ice cream had been dissolved to such a degree that only the tiny bursts of sweetness gave any sign that there was any toffee present in the ice cream. While some people may find that a bit disappointing, we were delighted with our Straus ice cream review, as it allowed us to savor the thick, smooth and creamy texture of the ice cream.
Next up is the Brown Sugar Banana, and let us tell you that this was a thing of beauty. This ice cream had so many layers of taste, each one complimenting the other. The base of the ice cream is banana-flavored, soft, and subtle, like how you would expect a real banana to taste. So, you know that no artificial flavoring is used; it’s all-natural. There is brown sugar and bits of chocolate added to the mix, and if you’ve ever had the pleasure of trying out a good banana bread, then you know chocolate and banana combos are the best. This ice cream isn’t too sweet and gives a mellow taste. It is five stars from our side.
The Dutch chocolate is the perfect take on chocolate ice cream. It has the rich sweet taste that you would expect from anything that has chocolate in it; it is smooth and velvety and leaves a lasting taste on your tongue. The vanilla extract added to it gives it the extra bit of flavor to balance out the sweetness of the chocolate. It is the dream ice cream of any chocolate lover.
