This nearly 100 years old creamery was originally founded in 1931 by Ormond Feldkamp and Herb Sullivan in Roseburg, Oregon. The company has evolved over the years, losing and winning many battles, but it has always won by buying out its competitors. The Umpqua Creamery first bought out Rosburg creamery, and from there, it was uphill, with Umpqua buying out nearly a dozen other creameries. But it is not just money that played a part in this success. Umpqua gained this success by maintaining the high quality of its products and keeping up with its founding principles. Even during the biggest storm in Oregon’s history, Umpqua’s drivers were in a four-wheeler, delivering milk and other dairy products to their customers. Talk about dedication.
It is no surprise then that Tasty ice cream had to review this ice cream brand, and here is what we thought about the ice creams in the Umpqua Ice Cream Review (Spoiler alert We became dedicated fans). Umpqua offers various ice cream and other frozen desserts in different flavors, such as Sherbets, Frozen Yogurts, no sugar added ice cream, and Premium Ice cream.
The Beaver Tracks Flavor
The Beaver Tracks is a chocolaty-filled ice cream that will have you licking your spoon. The base of this ice cream has been flavored with Peanut butter, giving it a mild and smooth texture. The thick and rich drizzle of chocolate fudge gives the ice cream the sweetness it needs, and the football-shaped chocolate shells filled with caramel are crunchy and the extra vow factor. Each two-thirds cup serving contains 240 calories and total fat content of 13 grams, along with 3 grams of Proteins and 38 grams of total Carbohydrates. This ice cream is a thumbs up in terms of taste and texture.
Bordeaux Cherry Flavor
The second flavor we would like to talk about in the Umpqua Ice Cream Review is the Bordeaux Cherry. There is no such thing as too many cherries, and this ice cream is the perfect example of that. The ice cream has a cherry-flavored base with bits of juicy and sweet Oregon Bing Cherries mixed in. The creaminess of the ice cream goes well with the sweet and sour taste of the cherries, making it the perfect mixture. The fresh and fruity flavor of the cherries comes through in the ice cream. Each two-thirds cup serving contains 180 calories and total fat content of 8 grams, along with 3 grams of Proteins and 35 grams of Carbohydrates. It also has 65 milligrams of Sodium and 35 Milligrams of Cholesterol.
Caramel Cold Brew Flavor
The next amazing ice cream flavor on the list of the Umpqua Ice Cream Review is the Caramel Cold Brew. From the start, this was one flavor we were looking forward to because Caramel and Chocolate always go very well together, especially in ice cream, and this one did not disappoint. The base of the ice cream is coffee-flavored with chunks of rich and crunchy chocolate bits mixed in and a brew of thick caramel drizzled on top. Every spoonful is a bomb of flavor burst in the mouth. The bitterness of the coffee compliments the sweetness of the chocolate, and the caramel gives the ice cream a buttery texture that makes it even more mouthwatering. Each two-thirds cup serving contains 210 calories and total fat content of 11 grams. It also has 85 milligrams of sodium and 35 milligrams of cholesterol, along with 3 grams of proteins and 27 grams of Carbohydrates. This ice cream gets five stars from us in the Umpqua Ice Cream Review.
