Lavender Lemonade Sorbet Recipe
This lavender and lemon sorbet recipe is a wonderful dessert that truly has some of the freshest-tasting notes that we’ve had in a very, very long time. When we can get hold of our favorite brand of lavender flowers, we make sure to buy in bulk before making a large quantity of this tasty sorbet.
If you wanted to switch this sorbet up a little, you could serve it along with some fresh mint from a mint plant. This would add a pretty little decorative touch, as well as allow you to showcase your gardening skills.
To make something truly outrageous, you could serve this sorbet with a dash of gin over the top. Of course, this would only be for the adults at a dinner party, but the addition of the light juniper notes can be something marvelous and unique compared to a number of other things at the table. You could even opt for an infused gin flavored neither like lavender nor lemon – making a wonderful combination of three different flavors!

Lavender Lemonade Sorbet Recipe

2 cups sugar
2 ½ cups water
¾ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 tbsp ground, dried food-grade lavender flowers
Method
Add the sugar and water into a small, heavy-bottomed saucepan with a lid.
Bring the mixture to a bare simmer, making sure to whisk it to ensure that you dissolve the sugar.
Remove the mixture from the heat, and then whisk in the lavender. Cover it and allow it to steep for twenty minutes at room temperature.
While we say twenty minutes here as a general estimate, you can leave it for longer, if you’d like. That will ensure that you have a more intense lavender flavor in your final sorbet.
After the steeping time has elapsed, whisk the lemon juice into the mixture. Make sure to be thorough, to ensure that it mixes in properly.
Pour the combined mixture into a shallow pan or bowl, and then place everything into the fridge to chill thoroughly – this should take one to two hours.
Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker, and then process it according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Be careful when adding the mixture to the ice cream maker, as it will be very sticky and difficult to clean up once it’s cool.
Using a rubber spatula or spoon, transfer the sorbet itself into a freezer container – make sure that you use an airtight container, or the sorbet will get freezer burn before you’ve even had your first bite!
Cover the Lavender Lemonade Sorbet Recipe and freeze it until it’s firm. This should take at least four hours, though, again, you can leave it a little longer if you’d like;
